PURPOSE AND POTENTIALS

Towards the fulfillment of every purpose, potentials are given. However, potentials should not be confused to be the same as purpose. As purpose deals with the reason why something, say a product, is in existence, potentials are the means or inner empowerment/quality given for the fulfillment of that purpose.

Every manufacturer has a fundamental reason – purpose, for manufacturing a product. This, most times, is always in respect of meeting a target while he programs or builds in it the abilities – potentials, for achieving that target. This is to say that everything that has a purpose has a potential(s).

A product could function in many ways as far as the potentials in it can carry it, but the fact still remains that all those potentials are aimed at achieving a target- purpose. The same thing applies to every man. You are a product in the hands of your Manufacturer –God, manufactured at achieving a purpose with lots of potentials in you. That is why you can exhibit your gifts or talents in different ways.

It is one thing to discover the potentials a product carries and yet, another thing to understand the purpose for which the product was manufactured. So, a product will not maximize its potentials until its purpose is discovered and understood.

As said earlier, every potential a man carries is targeted towards the achievement of his purpose on earth and that is why, not until a purpose is discovered, potentials can and will never be maximally utilized. Purpose, therefore, is knowing that particular reason why God, your Manufacturer, created you and pursuing it with all diligence until it is fulfilled and potentials are the abilities, talents or gifts programmed into you, as a product, for the fulfillment of that purpose.

Moreover, you must understand that the fact that, that you have the potential for singing does not mean your purpose is to be a musician, nor that you can act means your purpose is to be an actor or actress. This means that your potentials can only give you a clue as to what your purpose is, but does not guarantee the discovery of your purpose.
